WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The Wilmington Fire Department said some hot spots rekindled Saturday morning after Friday’s massive fire at the Graystone Inn.
Crews had to return to the scene around 10 a.m. Saturday. Third Street between Orange and Market Streets was closed once again as firefighters worked to put out those hotspots.

The road was reopened at noon.
The fire originally broke out around 1 p.m. Friday. When crews arrived at the scene, they responded to fires on both the first and second floors. Wilmington Fire Chief Steve Mason reported that the flames eventually reached the third floor and the roof.
Mason said the building is a loss.
