WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - A two-vehicle crash on Wrightsville Avenue near Molly Pitcher’s American Grill temporarily closed the roadway Monday night, according to the Wilmington Police Department.

The crash was reported at 9:15 p.m. on July 6. The road has since reopened.

No life-threatening injuries were reported. The at-fault driver was arrested on a DUI charge, police said.

The name of the arrested driver has not yet been released.

Early reports indicated police were searching for a person who may have fled the scene on foot. A WPD officer said initial information suggested the driver had run off, but police determined that was not the case.

Police said there is no threat to the public.
