LELAND, N.C. (WECT) - A major road resurfacing effort will bring smoother pavement and traffic delays to dozens of residential streets across Leland over the coming months.

The nearly $1.7 million project targets about 5.5 miles of town-maintained roads. The town Council funded the work under its 2025–2026 budget as part of a long-term plan to repave up to 5% of municipal streets each year over a 20-year cycle. Crews will mill deteriorated surfaces, patch deep problem spots, lay fresh asphalt, paint new markings and replace damaged street signs.

Sections of roads scheduled for repaving include:

  • Enterprise Drive and Greensview Circle
  • Arbor Ridge Way, Suncrest Way, and Maplechase Drive
  • Beaumont, Plum Leaf, Rollingwood, Clover Field, Lake Breeze, Pebblestone, Meadowstone, Brightstone, Pavestone, Keystone, Sunstone, Wellstone, Estuary, Harvester, and Island Cove courts
  • Silver Maple and Winding Trail drives
  • Winterberry, Lanvale Hills, and Mt. Pleasant circles
  • Waverly Lane, Westport Drive, Ashcroft Drive, and Cape Fear National Drive

Work begins Monday, Nov. 2, running weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers should expect delays and use caution in active work zones.

More details on active municipal projects are available on the Town of Leland website.
