Drivers to face lane closures for bridge work on N.C. 53

PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - Travelers heading through a stretch of N.C. 53 should prepare for traffic delays as state transportation crews begin bridge upkeep.

The maintenance will affect both travel directions between Sycamore Springs Road and James Dixon Trail, running from 9 a.m. Nov. 2 through 5 p.m. Nov. 6, depending on the weather.

Transportation officials advise motorists to reduce their speed and stay alert when passing through the active work zone.
