WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Crews with Under the Dome continue filming in the Wilmington area Tuesday.

Don't be alarmed if you hear gunfire near Church Street, some of the scenes could include possible fake gun fire.

According to film permits, the scene involves a character breaking into a house while another actor comes out of the home with a fake rifle to prevent the crime.

They will be working on the scene until 11:00 Tuesday night.

The locally-filmed mini-series is based on a Stephen King novel with the same title.

Under the Dome is about a fictitious town called Chester's Mill that finds itself surrounded by a mysterious barrier that won't allow people to travel outside of it.

The series will air on CBS in June.
