Nearly 6 million Bodum French press coffee makers under recall

(CNN) - Bodum is recalling nearly six million French press coffee makers...sort of.

It’s not a traditional recall.

The problem is the glass carafe in the 8-cup and 12-cup models can break if it’s cracked.

It’s happened 70 times, with 48 reports of burns.

Bodum said it happens when consumers use metal spoons to stir the coffee.

So, the remedy for owners is that the company will send them a plastic stirring spoon. Owners can call the company or visit its website to get the spoon.
