CERRO GORDO, N.C. (WECT) - A Columbus County woman is celebrating a huge win after turning a $5 scratch-off ticket into a $150,000 top prize.
According to lottery officials, Kaci Souders won the prize after she bought the Loteria Grande ticket at Tiger Mart on Andrew Jackson Highway in Cerro Gordo.
She collected her winnings Wednesday at the North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters and took home $108,016 after required state and federal tax withholdings.
The Loteria Grande game launched in August with five top prizes of $150,000. Three top prizes remain.
