New Hanover County hosting free hurricane preparedness presentation this week

CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. — With hurricane season underway, New Hanover County Emergency Management is hosting a free disaster and hurricane preparedness presentation on Wednesday, July 8, in Carolina Beach.

Emergency Management Specialist Alan Brook will lead the presentation at 10 a.m. at the Carolina Beach Satellite Nutrition Site, 308 Cape Fear Blvd. The event is open to the public.

Attendees will learn how to build an emergency kit, create a family preparedness plan, and stay safe before, during, and after a storm.
