ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. (WECT) -The Town of Elizabethtown has received a $2.25 million federal grant for the Curtis L. Brown Jr. Airport, Mayor Sylvia Campbell said in a letter.

The grant was included in H.R. 7148, which President Trump signed into law on Feb. 3.

Mayor Campbell said the funding will support airport growth and position Elizabethtown for increased visitation, travel and tourism.

“We would specifically like to thank U.S. Congressman David Rouzer for his support on this project. In addition, we would like to thank Electus Governmental Affairs for their support and guidance of our legislative requests,” Mayor Campbell wrote in the letter.
