WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Mustaches for Kids will award $110,000 to local children’s charities during Stachegiving Day, marking the culmination of the 2025 mustache season.

Stachegiving Day will highlight 14 selected local children’s charities, with gifts ranging from $2,500 to $12,500, according to orgnizers. Recipients include The Children’s Museum of Wilmington, Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear and Carousel Child Advocacy Center.

During the 2025 season, the organization says it surpassed the $1 million mark in total grants awarded since its inception in 2003.

Each year during November, growers shave their faces except for the mustache and solicit donations from friends, family, co-workers and community members.

The group meets every Tuesday for weekly check-ins to share progress, turn in funds raised and discuss their new facial hair. At the end of the growing season, growers celebrate with a “Stache Bash” to announce final money raised and hand out awards while wearing mustache-inspired costumes.

Stachegiving Day is scheduled for Thursday, February 19th, at 5:30 p.m. at MegaCorp Logistics, 1011 Ashes Drive.
