Whiteville man convicted on four drug trafficking charges

COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - On Wednesday, Sept. 25, 36-year-old Johnathan Terrille Jordan from Whiteville was convicted by a jury of five drug-related charges.
Per District Attorney Jon David’s office, he was sentenced to about 19-24 years (225-282 months) and given a $500,000 fine for the charges of:
- Two counts of trafficking heroin
- Two counts of trafficking opioids
- One count of possession of drug paraphernalia
“In June of 2022, Jordan was stopped in the Williams Township community, after a detective with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office observed traffic violations. The Defendant was asked to exit the vehicle and a Crown Royal bag fell from his pants. He told the Detective that the contents included Cocaine, Marijuana, Heroin, and pills. Items of evidence were sent to the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory for testing and the substances included Heroin, Fentanyl, and Oxycodone,” an announcement from the DA states.
