Lawsuit filed over Mayoral election date

Yesterday’s efforts and a rainy night helped firefighters keep the Dry Creek Fire suppressed, with no growth overnight.

Drivers across the Valley should plan for extra travel time as several major freeways shut down this weekend. Closures will affect SR 51, Loop 202, Loop 101, U.S. 60 and Loop 303 at different times between Friday night and Monday morning. ADOT says the work includes pavement improvements, widening projects and interchange construction. Anyone heading through Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale, Mesa or the north Valley should check routes before leaving.

The cause of death is under further examination by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

The search continues for a person of interest after a double stabbing incident in Brandon Thursday morning.
