Elizabethtown man charged after threat to blow up Bladen County courthouse
BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - A 44-year-old Elizabethtown man faces a felony charge after an email threatening to blow up the Bladen County courthouse prompted an investigation, authorities said.
The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office said it received information about the email from the Bladen County District Attorney’s Office on Oct. 26. With help from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, investigators identified the email’s IP address. A subpoena led them to an address in the 300 block of Glenwood Drive in Elizabethtown.
William Bryan Clark was charged with felony false bomb report.
Clark was taken to the Bladen County Detention Center and initially held without bond. At his first appearance Oct. 30, a judge set his secured bond at $2 million.
