TV series “RJ Decker” among recipients of North Carolina film grants
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Gov. Josh Stein announced that several television and movie projects filmed in North Carolina have been approved for a North Carolina Film and Entertainment Grant.
According to the governor’s office, the productions are supporting film crew professionals and small businesses around the state by creating over 4,900 jobs and spending over $113 million during their production windows.
“North Carolina remains a top state for film, and these grants enable us to continue our strong tradition of TV and film production excellence,” Gov. Stein said
Locally filmed projects receiving funding include the first season of the “RJ Decker,” which was approved for an award of up to $11.6 million. Filming is currently taking place in New Hanover County.
The recently released holiday movie “Merv,” also filmed in New Hanover County, was a previous North Carolina Film Grant recipient.
Other recipients include:
- Season 2 of streaming series “The Hunting Wives,” which filming in and around Lake Norman and the Greater Charlotte metro area.
- The independent thriller “Widow,” which recently completed filming in Davidson, Forsyth, Stokes, and Yadkin counties.
“North Carolina continues to be attractive for productions thanks in part to the state’s grant program and our renowned workforce and established infrastructure,” Guy Gaster, North Carolina Film Office Director, said. “These latest awardees are helping us close out 2025 strongly and giving us a head start on activity for 2026.”
