16-year-old charged after deadly shooting in New Hanover County

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred on Sunday, Feb. 9.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO) arrived at Meridian Village Apartments in the early morning. They found Nathaniel Turner, 27, dead in his apartment from multiple gunshot wounds.

A 24-year-old woman was also shot multiple times and taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center by EMS. She is currently in stable condition.

A 16-year-old has been arrested for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

“This case remains an open investigation, and anyone with information about this incident should contact the Major Crimes Unit of the NHSO Detective Division at (910)798-4260,” NHCSO wrote in a press release.
