NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A grand jury indicted a New Hanover High School teacher Monday for possession of a schedule II narcotic, court documents show.

Catherine Entrocaso of Fayetteville was arrested in May on Hwy. 421 for possession of schedule II narcotics. According to court documents, Entrocaso was arrested with 13 Adderall pills in non-prescription bottles, without a label.

Entrocaso, an English teacher at New Hanover High School, was suspended from her position after being charged, and Monday's indictment means a grand jury has found enough evidence to allow prosecutors to pursue the case further.

Officials with the New Hanover County School System confirmed Tuesday that the status Entrocaso's employment is still listed as suspended with pay.

The Department of Public Safety says Entrocaso was stopped for a traffic violation, and A.L.E officials in Fayetteville made the arrest.
