Update: dogs reunited with family

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A woman in Brunswick County has been reunited with her dogs after she says her dogs were taken from her and someone on Craigslist was asking for reward money for the pups. But the woman who was looking after the dog says that's not the case.
The woman said she almost hit the dogs while driving on U.S. 17. She said she is an animal groomer herself and took the dogs so they did not get killed on the highway. She said she had to buy food and look after the dogs for three days.
She said she knocked on doors in the neighborhood trying to find the dogs' owners.
The dogs' owner, Jessica Noggles, saw a post on Craigslist after her two dogs disappeared over the weekend. The post explained that someone found a black lab and a yorkie by their house.
The woman said she asked for the reward on Craigslist because the dogs are purebreds and she did not want random people claiming they were their dogs. She said she would not accept an award if she was offered one.
Noggles said after seeing our story, someone in Southport recognized the dogs and called Noggles.
Noggles said she plans to file charges. As of Tuesday evening, the sheriff's department said no charges have been filed.
The sheriff's department said there is no ongoing investigation.
