WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A man being questioned for the death of two Wilmington women has been cleared as a suspect.

Wilmington Police investigated 47-year-old Tim Iannone after a pair of remains were found in the woods off of Carolina Beach Road.

In June 2008, witnesses said they saw a taxi van in the area along Carolina Beach Road where the remains of Allison Foy and Angela Rothen were found.

Foy was last seen in July 2006 getting into a taxi at Junction Pub.

A warrant said Iannone looked like a man sketched, drawn from descriptions given by witnesses. Police are now saying that the sketch is invalid.

As part of the investigation, police searched Iannone's home, but after months of investigation they have come to the conclusion he was not responsible for the deaths.

Now, police say the investigation is taking a new direction and is ongoing.
