Mosquito spraying scheduled Tuesday for Brunswick County

NEW HANOVER/BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - New Hanover and Brunswick counties are spraying for mosquitoes due to an emergence after Hurricane Florence.

New Hanover County sprayed for mosquitoes through Friday, Sept. 28. More information from the county on mosquito control can be found here.

Weather permitting and if shipments arrive, aerial mosquito spraying is scheduled to start Tuesday night in Brunswick County. An earlier news release from the county said spraying would start Monday.

The islands and western portions of Brunswick County, including Calabash, Carolina Shores and Waccamaw areas, are set to be sprayed. The map below shows where spraying will take place on Monday:

Spraying will take place from just before dusk until around 10:30 p.m. Residents should stay indoors during evening hours if possible.
