WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington woman, Anna Mann organized a benefit concert to raise funds and donations for people affected by Hurricane Florence.

The concert is being held Sunday at Bottega in downtown Wilmington.

It starts at noon and lasts until 8 p.m.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit Mutual Aid Disaster Relief. They will then send the supplies to Dreams of Wilmington to distribute among the community.

"We've got a lot of babies and small children and parents who don't have supplies like diapers and cleaning supplies for getting rid of mold," said Brianna Mellott, a Mutual Aid Disaster Relief volunteer.

Local Wilmington musicians such as Laura McLean, Slippery Jake & The Bad Brakes and Folkstone Stringband are performing at the concert.

Monetary contributions are being accepted as well as non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies and toiletry items.

"In a time of prolonged stress and grief, it can be hard to figure out what to do and how to help," Mann said. "I think this event will not only help to raise funds and collect donations of goods for Mutual Aid Disaster Relief, but it will help us all feel connected, supported, relaxed, and loved."
