WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington shopping center that was destroyed in a fire in May was torn down Wednesday.

An electrical fire, which started at Everybody's Supermarket, spread to other businesses in Village Plaza on Greenfield Street.

A church, restaurant, a beauty supply store and a salon also were destroyed.

WECT has reached out to the property owner to find out what the current plan is for the property.
