WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Students at UNCW learning about nonprofit organizations got a chance to show off what they've learned on Wednesday.
UNCW's Department of Public Affairs is holding its nonprofit leadership experience and students created posters to show what they've learned.
"Many of our students are able to get jobs in the nonprofit sector," said UNCW professor Jeffrey Brudney. "In addition, about half of them continue volunteering and giving time to the organizations. Since they have the experience of the class with the minor, there's so much of a value added that they have good practical skills to offer."
Students have been studying the ins and outs of numerous nonprofit organizations in the Wilmington area. Through their projects, they wanted to emphasize the accomplishments of the nonprofits and their involvement in local communities.
This is the sixth year UNCW has offered the program, including the poster presentation.
