LELAND, NC (WECT) - A Leland man is out of jail Monday night after being arrested on more than two dozen counts of possessing images of child pornography, according to the district attorney.
Justin Brochure of Leland was arrested June 28 at his residence on 31 criminal counts, according to Leland police. He is the son of Cin Brochure, the mayor of Oak Island. She had no comment other than to say to her knowledge this is Justin's first arrest.
District Attorney Jon David said the investigation into Justin Brochure began with the Department of Homeland Security, which investigates computer-related crimes. David said his office has worked with the federal agency on this investigation.
Brochure's bond was originally set at $1 million when he made his first appearance. A judge lowered the bond to $100,000, and records show Brochure was released from jail on Monday.
