NORTH CAROLINA (WECT) - The numbers are in, and tourists spent more money than ever before in North Carolina.
The Governor's officer announced last week that 2017 saw a 4.2 percent increase in the amount of visitor spending, with a total of $23.9 billion dollars flowing into the state.
More tax revenue also came to North Carolina, with visitors creating more than $1.9 billion in state and local taxes.
