COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - One of two suspects in an armed robbery in Columbus County has been arrested, according to the News Reporter.
Warrants state that Seth Ryan Spivey, from Tabor City, was arrested on Wednesday.
Spivey, 23, is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of second-degree kidnapping and one count safe cracking.
He was booked into the Columbus County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
According to the Columbus County Sheriff's Office, thousands of dollars and more than 150 packs of cigarettes were stolen during that armed robbery.
The robbery took place at the Dollar General located at 25 Dock Road in Whiteville at approximately 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
According to Michele Tatum with the sheriff's office, the store manager and an employee had just locked the store for the night and were entering the parking lot when two men wearing face masks appeared, one with a shotgun.
The suspects ordered the victims to open the store. Once inside, the suspects took the cigarettes and $5,315.71 in currency from the safe and register tills.
No one was injured in the robbery.
