WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A man has been arrested for a hit and run incident in Wilmington involving a vehicle with an infant in the back seat.
According to a Wilmington Police Department news release, Zachary Ridley, 23, was arrested around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. He is charged with misdemeanor hit and run, driving while license revoked, operating a vehicle with no insurance, fictitious or altered title/registration card/tag and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ridley was booked into the New Hanover County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
On March 17, Ridley allegedly struck a silver BMW with his gray Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of Second and Dock streets. Video of the incident was released on March 25.
WPD said the driver of the Jeep ran into the back of the BMW causing more than $10,000 in damages.
The suspect then made a gesture toward the BMW's occupants before driving away toward Third Street, according to WPD.
Tuesday's release said Ridley was also wanted for misdemeanor larceny.
