WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington man says the TV show The Walking Dead inspired him to decorate his home like a zombie apocalypse.

Michael Cammack lives in the Willowick neighborhood off Willowick Park Drive and said he started decorating Sept. 1.

His home is decked out with eight zombies on the roof and strewn around the yard, made out of mannequin heads, chicken wire, duct tape and clothes he bought from thrift stores. To give his zombies an aged, death-like appearance, Cammack said he buried the "bodies" for several days.

"A couple years ago is when my wife first gave me permission to decorate so that's when it started. And last year is when I figured out how to build the bodies of the zombies so once I figured that out, I didn't have to spend so much money at the Halloween stores," Cammack said.

Fans of The Walking Dead may recognize one particular prop in Cammack's front yard: A mannequin look-alike of the show's antagonist, Negan, complete with the leather jacket and barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat, better known as "Lucille."

This isn't the first holiday Cammack has decorated his home for a holiday. Last Christmas, he used the movie National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation as inspiration for his holiday decor.
