WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The 15th annual Willie Stargell Celebrity Invitational welcomes newcomers this year.

Former N.C. State standout and Atlanta Hawks point guard Spud Webb will be in Wilmington for the annual event that raises money to help local people living with kidney disease.

Webb's first six seasons were played with the Atlanta Hawks, but his best years statistically were with the Sacramento Kings. Webb, 5'7", is also best known for winning the NBA slam dunk contest in 1986.

Another new face to this year's lineup is Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman and outfielder Josh Bell. The president of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Frank Coonley along with the manager of the team, Clint Hurdle will join Bell in Wilmington next month.

The Stargell Invitational is taking place November 3, 4, and 5 at The Country Club of Landfall. The three-day event includes a celebrity reception, an auction dinner and golf.
