WPD Investigation: man shows up at hospital with gunshot wound

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department is investigating after a man arrived at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to the hospital shortly after 4 p.m. The victim told officers that he believed he was riding a bike in the 1000 block of Meares Street when he heard two gunshots.
The victim was struck in the thigh and was taken to the hospital in a privately owned vehicle.
His injuries are non-life threatening.
