One shooting victim dies, other remains in critical condition

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A man found with several gunshot wounds on Metting Road Monday night has died, according to the Wilmington Police Department.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at around 8:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Metting Road.

According to Linda Rawley, spokesperson for the WPD, upon arrival officers found 37-year-old Eric Huff, of Wilmington, who had been shot several times. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but died a short time after undergoing surgery.

Rawley said a short time later another shooting victim, identified as 23-year-old Dequan Norman, arrived to the hospital in critical condition. He remains in critical condition as of Tuesday morning.

Police are still investigating the shootings. They are still unsure if they are related at this time.
