I-40 lanes temporarily shut down after Pepsi truck catches fire

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Units from multiple agencies responded after a Pepsi truck caught fire on I-40 Thursday morning.
Both westbound lanes of I-40 were temporarily shut down near the New Hanover County line.
According to Pender County dispatch, the fire was called in just before 7 a.m.
According to the State Highway Patrol, the driver and a passenger in the truck told officials that the fire started under the floorboard of the cab. The driver immediately pulled over to the shoulder of the road and the two occupants were able to escape without injury.
