WPD files charges in two murders

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department has filed charges in two separate murders.

According to WPD officials, Zibree Brawley-Washington has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Johnny Lee Johnson, who was shot and killed on Sept. 20 on N. 13th St. Brawley-Washington is awaiting extradition from a Philadelphia jail.

Damian Gore, who was located by US Marshals in Fulton County, Georgia, has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Rashaun McKoy, who was killed on Dec. 30, 2015, off of Westchester Road. Gore also is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and larceny of a motor vehicle.
