The new WECT Weather app has many features you can use every day to keep you and your family ahead of changing weather conditions; lightning and severe weather alerts, ability to watch live severe weather coverage and a forecast that is updated locally by your First Alert Weather team.
As you scroll through the app you'll see everything from forecasted temperatures and the radar to videos, live streams, and a way to submit YOUR photos.
When you first open the app, you'll see the current temperature and "feels like" conditions on the home screen. You may also see a quick video at the top of the screen that highlights important weather information.
The hot keys along the bottom of the screen make it easy to jump to the hourly or daily forecasts or to the radar. When you are on the radar screen, you have the option to customize the view you see by adding various layers. Just press the "layers" button in the lower right-hand corner to toggle on and off precipitation layers, lightning, and storm tracks.
The menu in the top left-hand corner of the screen offers more ways to customize your app. Here, you can select a specific location or choose to use your current location based on your GPS.
Also in the menu, you will find the settings option where you can customize the type of push alerts that are sent to your phone during severe weather. Turn on or off alerts issued by the National Weather Service or the First Alert Weather Team, in addition to lightning or precipitation.
As always, we want to provide you with a way to stay consistently up to date with the latest weather information for you and your family and we hope that you enjoy the First Alert Weather app.
