Man wanted for stealing car with toddler still in it

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WECT) - The Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department is searching for a man who is wanted for stealing a vehicle and kidnapping a 3-year-old Thursday afternoon.

According to the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department, Joshua Brandon Miller, 26, is wanted for taking a black 2016 Toyota Corolla four-door with NC license plate EBK-8338 and kidnapping a 3-year-old.

The kidnapping occurred around 4 p.m. at the Olde Brunswick Store located at the intersection of Fifty Lakes Drive and NC Highway 133.

Miller was originally a passenger in the vehicle and when the driver went into the store, he drove away with the vehicle. The 3-year-old was in her car seat in the back of the vehicle.

He stopped the vehicle on Fifty Lakes Drive, a short distance from the store, and removed the toddler from the vehicle leaving her in the middle of the road. The toddler was found unharmed and returned to her mother.

Miller is wanted for kidnapping and the larceny of motor vehicle.
