Former Pender Co. commissioner becomes community college president

HERTFORD COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Former Pender County Commissioner Jimmy Tate will become the President of Roanoke Chowan Community College in Hertford County.

Tate is currently the Vice President for College Advancement and Strategic Initiatives at James Sprunt Community College and has nearly 20 years of community college and university experience in all.

"Dr. Tate brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to the table, and we are elated to have him serve as President of Roanaoke-Chowan Community College," Board of Trustees chair Andrew Lassiter said in a press release.
