PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - State Highway Patrol arrested a man on Sunday in connection with the hit-and-run death of a teen in Pender County.
SHP charged James Williams Jr., 30, of Holly Ridge, with felony hit-and-run death and driving with a revoked license.
According to SHP officials, they followed up on a lead and located a suspect vehicle on May 28. A search warrant was obtained and the 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck was seized. The vehicle will be processed by the SBI.
The truck is owned by Williams, SHP officials said. After interviews with Williams and consulting the District Attorney's Office, warrants were obtained for Williams' arrest.
He is held under a $50,000 bond and will appear in court Tuesday.
The case remains under investigation.
According to online records for the Department of Public Safety, Williams Jr. was arrested in 2015 on an unrelated DWI charge and in February he received a suspended sentence as well as 18 months probation.
