Man shot in Clarkton on Sunday

CLARKTON, NC (WECT) - A man was shot in the left thigh in Clarkton on Sunday night, the Bladen County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.
According to Sheriff James A. McVicker, a call was placed to 911 shortly after 7 p.m. EMS and law enforcement arrived at a building near Time Saver in Clarkton where Michaaveei Brown was found with a gunshot wound.
Brown was unable to identify his assailant or to give law enforcement officials the reason for the shooting. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center and underwent surgery.
The investigation is ongoing. Sheriff McVicker is asking anyone with information to contact the Bladen County Sheriff's Office at 910-862-6960.
