WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - After 20 years of serving homeowners in our area, a local organization finally has a home of its own.

Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry, Inc. (WARM), helps poor and elderly homeowners in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties with safety repairs like fixing broken stairs and building wheelchair ramps.

They had their grand opening Friday of their new home on Wrightsville Avenue.

The new facility will provide much-needed space for volunteer training, trailer parking, and workshops.

"WARM belongs to the whole community. It's not just a mission of any non-profit or the board of directors or the staff, it really does belong to the whole community. We have so many people involved on so many levels. So we have a lot of folks excited about this day," said JC Skane, executive director of WARM.
