Officers arrest man accused of shooting vehicle occupied by two children, woman

WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) - Whiteville police officers arrested a man Sunday on four outstanding warrants connected to a shooting in February.
According to the Whiteville Police Department, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at Sandy Ridge Apartments on Nolan Avenue just before noon Sunday.
While investigating the disturbance, police identified Carl Tyrice Mason Jr., 20, who was wanted in connection to a shooting in the 400 block of West Lewis Street on Feb. 15. Mason reportedly shot into a vehicle occupied by a woman and two children. No one was injured during the incident.
Officers arrested Mason on his outstanding warrants of discharging a firearm into a vehicle and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Police performed a search of Mason, and found a firearm, cocaine and marijuana. He was additionally charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, maintaining a place for a controlled substance, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Mason was placed in the Columbus County Detention Center.
