Groundbreaking ceremony held for technology firm coming to Leland

LELAND, NC (WECT) - A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Leland Wednesday morning for MicroSolv Technology Corporation, a New Jersey company moving its headquarters to Brunswick County.

According to Bill Ciccone, President of MicroSolv, work is expected to be completed on the 11,000-square-foot building in April or May of 2016.

MicroSolv, a technology firm established in 1992, works with universities and other entities for the development, manufacturing and marketing of technology used in analytical, organic and biochemistry laboratories.

Ciccone said moving the firm's headquarters to Leland is expected to bring 12 new jobs to the area. Some current employees in New Jersey will be moving to Leland.

"Leland offers a very good economic climate for our employees to work with us and to buy homes and thrive in the community it's also abundant land and lots of friendly people," Ciccone said.

McKinley Building Corporation, a commercial construction management, general contracting and design build firm in Wilmington NC, has been selected as the builder for this project.
