WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry has created Veteran Day of Hope.
The organization teamed up with three Veterans who needed a home repair they just couldn't afford.
The volunteers that helped Veterans today gathered throughout three different counties in the area.
"Our Veterans have given so much to our country, and so much to us as individuals, and I think it's really important that we give back in any way that we can with something like this," Volunteer Elissa Riley said. "I love coming out and working on their house and making it a warmer safer place for the winter. This is such an excellent opportunity, and it makes you feel really good inside."
WARM finds the Veterans in need through word of mouth and social services.
