OAK ISLAND, NC (WECT) - Following shark bites in Oak Island that cost two victims parts of their limbs, a store there is selling t-shirts emblazoned with "SHARK ATTACK" and "OAK ISLAND, NC." In the center is a vicious looking shark with its mouth agape.

"It was just like a freak thing that this happened at the same time we got the shirts," said Terri Rowell, assistant manager at the Oak Island Eagles.

She explained the store ordered the decals two weeks ago, before the June 14 shark incidents. When the decals arrived Thursday, store employees printed them on shirts without hesitation.

"I don't think it really was thought about at the time," Rowell said. "They just made them up."

Eagles had sold more than a dozen of the shirts by Monday morning.

"That's a good sale," Rowell said.

There haven't been any negative comments about the the shirts, according to Rowell. But one lady asked if her shirt could read, "I survived a shark attack."

"But we can't do that because the decals are pre-made," Rowell explained.
