WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A TV show that filmed its first season in Wilmington is moving its production to California. The news comes from a press release issued Tuesday from the California Film Commission.

Secrets and Lies is one of 11 projects selected to receive tax credits under the first allocation of the state's new Film and Television Tax Credit Program 2.0.

California lawmakers approved a bipartisan bill expanding the incentives program funding from $100 million to $330 million.

The new California program, which offers productions a 25 percent tax credit on qualified expenses, has lured three other productions away from other states, including Veep, which filmed in Maryland.
