Man pleads guilty for his role in deadly home invasion

Zeer Cannady pleaded guilty last week in New Hanover Superior Court for his role in the robbery and murder of Aaron McGhee in 2014.
Cannady was one of three people accused of going to McGhee's home in Garden Lake Estates, robbing the five people inside the home, shooting and injuring one and killing McGhee.
According to officials, one of the occupants was able to identify Cannady as a participant in the crime.
Cannady pleaded guilty to four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was sentenced to 8.5-12.5 years in prison.
Court officials say Makree George was also identified and arrested for these crimes. The charges, however, were later dismissed when it was determined he was misidentified by the witness.
The remaining two suspects have not been charged in this case.
