Poultry truck catches on fire in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Emergency crews responded to reports of a poultry truck on fire in Brunswick County Monday afternoon.
According to dispatch, the call came in around 2:20 p.m. that a tractor-trailer carrying poultry caught fire on Highway 74/76 near the Columbus County line.
Multiple agencies were on scene to fight the flames, which appear to be out now. There's no word yet on what started the fire.
Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 74/76 during the incident, but have since reopened both lanes.
No injuries have been reported at this time, and dispatch says EMS crews were not requested to respond.
