A fire ripped through an auto garage in New Hanover County early Saturday morning.

According to New Hanover County dispatch, a call came in around 2:20 a.m. of a structure fire at 2736 North Kerr Avenue.

When crews arrived on the scene, flames were visible in the sky and the cinder block walls of the building were beginning to collapse. For a time, the fire crews had to go on the defensive while battling the blaze.

Fire investigators say the building and the cars it held were "a complete loss".

No one was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
