Pender County hires new county manager

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Commissioners  in Pender County voted Monday night to hire Randell Woodruff as the new county manager. Commissioner Jimmy Tate made the motion to hire him.

Woodruff is the current county manager in Beaufort County.

Woodruff will make an annual salary of $145,000, which includes travel.

Mickey Duvall resigned in May to take a job in the mountains of North Carolina, leaving Bob Murphy and Rick Benton to each serve as county manager in the interim.

Woodruff will start in Pender County in January.
