Rouzer enjoys wide lead in campaign cash in race to replace McIntyre

WASHINGTON, DC (WECT) - GOP Congressional nominee David Rouzer reported raising more than $326,000 in political contributions during the third quarter of 2014, with less than three weeks left before election day. Rouzer is one of three candidates running to succeed Rep. Mike McIntyre in the Seventh Congressional District.

, filed the report this week with the Federal Elections Commission. The former state Senator from Johnston County raised $326,037.80 from July 1st to September 30th, 2014, and has $192,764.37 cash on hand as of the end of the third quarter.

Rouzer's contributions include $177.937 from individual donors, and $140,850 from Political Action Committees. Several PACs donated $5,000 to Rouzer's campaign, including the John Deere Co. PAC, the National Pork Producers Council PAC, The Freedom Project, and the Republican Operation to Secure and Keep a Majority PAC.

J. Wesley Casteen, the Libertarian candidate running for McIntyre's seat, also reported his third quarter FEC report this week. Casteen reported raising $4,417.19 worth of individual contributions and no donations from any Political Action Committees. Casteen had $358.99 cash on hand at the end of the quarter.
