First Alert Weather: November to begin balmy and breezy with a risk of showers

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - An advancing cold front will be the focus of the forecast. Mild and breezy conditions ahead of it will bring nice 'Trick or Treat' weather, but conditions will become more unsettled later Friday into Saturday morning. Post-front: cooler for Sunday.

FRIDAY: South breezes of 10 to 20mph will whisk moisture into the area for clouds and showers. The chance of showers will grow to above 50% late Friday. A gusty thunderstorm could even mix. High temperatures: upper 70s to possibly lower 80s.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Showers will remain likely and a gusty thunderstorm could still mix in (stay weather-aware and plugged-in to your WECT mobile weather app). Rain amounts: 0.25 - 0.5 inches for most places. Temperatures will be in the 60s for most of the night.

WEEKEND: Showers may linger for part of Saturday, but most of the weekend will be dry. Temperatures will reach the 70s Saturday but cooler 60s are likely for Sunday. Saturday night: 2am "falls back" to 1am as Daylight Saving Time ends. Mind your clocks and smoke detectors!

TROPICAL OUTLOOK: New tropical storm development is not expected in the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea or the Gulf of Mexico for the first several days of November.
