WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Moviegoers may notice two familiar faces when watching Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal's new movie, Prisoners.
Jane McNeill and Anthony Reynolds, two Wilmington-based actors, both landed roles in the flick.
McNeill, known for her role on The Walking Dead, plays a nurse. She is in a scene with Hugh Jackman.
Wilmington resident Alisa Harris also landed a role on the feature. She is in a scene with Gyllenhaal. While her face is obscured, you can hear her interrupting him with a phone message while he watches a video. Harris is the owner of TheatreNOW, a performing arts complex featuring dinner theater shows and events.
In the movie, Reynolds plays on officer who is on the force with Gyllenhaal.
The film follows the story of a father (Jackman) who is facing every parent's worst nightmare.
His six-year-old daughter is missing with her young friend. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had was parked near the family's home. Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), but he is released because of a lack of evidence.
It opened last weekend in the top spot at the box office.
This is just one of the latest projects for Reynolds, a Cary native, who moved from LA to Wilmington five years ago to be near family here.
He also landed a role on The Red Road, in which he said he plays a "slimy security guard".
The show will air on the Sundance Channel starting next year.
